This was created by humans.

Our second location Starseed House in Marrakech has just launched and already people can't believe it is real. I hear it all the time about my work- “I thought it was AI!”
First and foremost, what a huge complimen, thank you. It means people are seeing something so vivid, so surreal, that they think it’s too good to be true. You know what the most ironic thing is? People that actually have hired The Pink House or have visited either location always say "The picture's just don't it justice." Go figure.
Here’s the thing I keep wondering though… How many people scroll past, dismissing my work as “just another computer-generated image” that only exists on a screen? Or worse, they simply think it IS too good to be true so never enquire.
The more recent AI comments remind me of when filters first appeared. People would DM me asking, “What filter is that?” because they couldn’t quite believe anyone’s home could have such uniquely vivid decor. Now that disbelief has evolved from the simplicity of filters to completely questioning reality.

But luckily, my work does exist. The vision started in my very own human heart and mind. I then worked with the extraordinary talent that is Stephen Tiffin, aka TXGolden, to help shape my ideas into something tangible to share with the Marrakech team who would help me bring it to life. A lot of times I created off the cuff, but in this case I needed great drawings for parts of this project because speaking the same language isn't something me and my building team in Marrakech have in common.
So, the thought process and passion- human. The design drawings- human. The artisan who made every single piece of this room in a workshop the size of a small home garage- human. The artisan who painted all the detail with donkey hair brushes that he makes himself (for real!) - human. Side note- No animals are harmed this- it is simply like us getting a haircut and using the hair for purpose.
The photos that capture the colours and feeling so beautifully? Yep, you guessed it. This photo was taken by a real person with outstanding skill that understands composition, lighting and capturing the finest of details. Nothing could ever replace seeing and experiencing it IRL, but he really captured it well.
Maybe that’s why my projects feel so different, because the human energy that is created through the love of what you do and the collaboration with like minded souls is so strong. Human vision. Human hands. Human experiences. Human soul.
Who would have ever thought that this was a conversation we needed to be having?
At the heart of it all, what I love most is creating human experiences with humans for humans. Spaces you can step into, touch, feel, and be transformed by. Spaces that evoke joy, awe and hope for a better future and an absolutely, incredibly beautiful, celebratory moment of now.
In a world where the line between real and artificial keeps blurring, I believe that’s what we’ll need more and more of it in years to come and I am here for it.
Real always hits different.
